May the fourth be with you because it’s not doing us much good. When I awoke it was cold, I looked outside, it looked cold, I felt the radiator, it felt cold. I fed the cats, shivering and called the emergency plumber explaining we had to be in another unknown town mid afternoon for the cat. Then I had a shower and washed my hair, the plumber arrived and asked what kind of fan heater we had, which is never a good thing for a plumber to ask about.
So we went shopping for a fan heater, getting thoroughly chilled in the process. When we came back the heating was working slightly, he said it might, but we didn’t have time to enjoy it because we had to catch the cat to go adventuring. Russell, being much better, has suddenly developed about nine legs, none of which wish to go in a cat basket at all, so we got warmer chasing him round the house.
Well we set off for Rugby and I did so wish during the hour that we sat in the waiting room that I had had time to have lunch first. Russell was removed, injected, tested and returned and we sat in the car and plugged the Sat Nav in. Nothing. Nothing nada, zip zero etc. Returned by what would have been guesswork and the pretty route if it hadn’t been shrouded in freezing fog to our lukewarm house and putting on more clothes I plugged the Nav into the computer to charge, mend, feel better, get a new fan, electrolytes whatever but for lo it go not.
So far five things wrong and it’s only the fourth, I feel I’m getting ahead of myself here. Many thanks to kind regular readers who have written expressing concern, when things stop happening, no doubt I’ll have time to reply.
The fourth, that’s all. You probably don’t need a calendar this year, if you didn’t get one, I’ll just keep telling you.
