God’s in His heaven, all’s right with the world, here with the return of Midweek Miniatura. There will only be two Midweek Mins this time, as I have a mother and a wedding to do but not necessarily in that order.
The show is at the NEC on the 29th and 30th of March, details on the website www.miniatura.co.uk or you can call the ticket hotline at the NEC 0121 767 4100
Did you know you can get advanced tickets for the Autumn show at a discount? These are only available at the spring show from the information stand but well worth making an enquiry if you have had a fabulous day out and would like a repeat in six months at a lower cost, (there’s not many pleasures in life that cost less next time).
This show is notable for a wealth of new exhibitors and workshops, information about the new exhibitors is going on to the Miniatura website every day at present, with full details and pictures. The new exhibits are:
A basket of………….. presenting food
The art of Mini – nostalgic miniatures
Elite Petite Interiors – a design service
Mini McGregor – presenting stationery
Miniature Scene – exhibiting fireplaces
Nordwain – do look now at their splendid carriages on the Miniatura site
Angela Pyatt – artist
Rosemary Interiors – showing furniture and houses
Showcase Miniatures – showcasing silk clothing
Totally Unique Miniatures – presenting furniture
Tudor Miniatures – showing silver items.
There are also two returning exhibitors, Wee Folk Interiors, with plants and flowers and Yvonne’s Dolls’ House back again with furniture.
There are some cracking workshops this show. Most of the workshops last about an hour and occur actually at the show in special workshop areas. Costs are variable and booking is highly advised. Get in touch with the workshop tutors before the show via email or phone, details to be found on the Miniatura website. There is nothing nicer than going to a show and returning with something you’ve made yourself and a sense of achievement.
The workshops and tutors are:
Amanda Campbell – fairy wings
Sue Harrington – doll assembly and wig and shoe demonstrations
Petite Properties – 48th scale kit construction
The Miniature Needlework Society – knitted rag rugs
Seaside Miniatures – beach holiday workshop
Tickhill – boxes galore
There is also a Shakespeare competition and the full range of all the exhibitors you know and love, including yours truly, who will now go and china paint several brand new 48th scale items, which, when they have been in the kiln for the third time, it will be my pleasure to show you.
