Zooooooooooooooooom

Fantastic new virtual play feature.

I am thrilled silly to be able to tell you that at last you can play with my dolls in cyberspace.  This has taken some time to do, 51 things are there to be played with, three of which are distorted and one of which doesn’t work yet because of the goon behind the camera (that would be me.)  However there’s enough to have a go with and see what fun this site is going to be once the other couple of hundred things appear.

How to zoom.

Not volumes of a dictionary but instructions.  Not that you need them if you can operate a mouse, it’s easy.  Read this first and then have a go.  Go through to the shop by clicking where it says ‘click here to go shopping’ on the right.  Click on a doll.  Wait till the picture comes up and settles. If you get a black square to begin with use the back button and do it again, the picture will eventually appear.  On the bottom right hand corner of the picture you will see some buttons.  The first of the row on the left is + clicking on this will zoom the picture.  Clicking on this and pointing at bits of the picture will zoom those bits.  You can also click and drag.  The next button – will smallerate the picture a bit at a time.  The little house will return it to the original size and the square with the diagonal arrow will make it go full screen where you can click, drag, zoom, smallerate and home it too.   On my machine there are black squares and the top of the doll disappears in full screen mode because my screen isn’t set to full screen; I have a favourites bar and other junk round the desktop.  It doesn’t matter if you have a similar set up because you can drag the image where you want it and see the dolls in such close up that if there were middle aged women they would all hide every time I got the camera out.

Errrrrr (to err is human).

There are a few tiny teething troubles.  Dolls 23, 24 and 25 in zoom mode currently have massive legs.  This is not because they’ve inherited them from me, it’s because of the fool with the camera who took the pictures sideways.  The fool will correct it later this week when she gets the camera out again.  46 needs the attention of the idiot and will be zooming tomorrow with a bit of luck and a following wind.

Land of the giants.

For new internetty friends, who have not played with my dolls at Miniatura and don’t know what I’m like (what is she like?!) please remember when zooming that some of these dolls are really small.  I haven’t got the tiny stuff up yet but I do make the smallest jointed porcelain glass eyed dolls in the UK; when we get on to the two and a half inch dolls they are small.  So when you are looking at the zoomed dolls you are seeing very much better than you could with the human eye.  I do include postage stamps, cotton reels and thimbles (I try to use these because they are a very similar size internationally) to give an idea of scale and measurements in the written description.

And finally,

You weren’t seeing things, dolls 1 and 2 have been reduced in price, they just haven’t been classified as bargain corner yet.

Right that’s it, go and play (I’ll give you a shout when it’s tea time).
