Long ago when I would have been an avid doll collector but for the small matter of money, I really enjoyed looking at pictures of dolls, knowing that the glossy catalogue was the nearest I was going to get to some of the dolls I coveted.
If you like to do this too and have been enjoying the pictures in the shop, I think I should warn you that the first 22 are about to change. They will still be the same dolls but they will not be exactly the same photos. So whilst it says somewhere on the site about not reproducing pictures without permission, if you wish to print off the pictures in the shop, just for you, before they get changed, go right ahead.
The subject of copyright is quite tricky. Broadly speaking I would be within my rights to sue the pants off anyone who used material, either writing or dolls, or doll pictures from this site for resale in any way, without permission and I jolly well would. However, over many years of talking to collectors at shows and through countless hundreds of letters, I know that heading for bed with an armful of funny writing, pictures of dolls and a cup of tea is what makes some folk very happy. Some of the more dissipated readers take little bars of chocolate too; on a really bad day, family-sized bars. This is not a glossy magazine, as you may have spotted. Odds are, you’re looking at a computer screen and it might just be me but I think a computer in bed with a cup of tea is a bad mixture. So if it’s just for you to read, please print off blogs and pics and head bedwards with a cuppa and be happy. Just take the chocolate bar out of your pocket before you get into the nice warm bed would be my advice, though I’m not prepared to tell you how I know that.
