The free miniatures magazine written by members of the artisans in miniature online group is currently available in the January edition which is a free 24 projects supplement. This can be accessed at www.artisansinminiature.com and is welcome as anything in January that is free. Editions of the magazine are published at the start of each month but written during the previous month, which is why I haven’t posted since the weekend; I’ve been writing an article.
I’ve also been finishing off the spice rack for the new kitchen and reupholstering an old footstool. Considering it’s the start of a new year, there’s a lot of old stuff getting finished off. I’ve also got a huge roll of wadding (this is not a reference to all the weight I put on over the cold spell, I really do have a huge roll of wadding) to reupholster the dining chairs. They had stuffing thirty five years ago and have been recovered three or four times but are now really disreputable. The one I sit on all the time to work has been through the cover and down to the blockboard for years.
I have three miniature projects about to launch and I’ve started writing another book,
I’m writing this on a new laptop we had to buy when the old one refused to be reformatted and was so clogged with junk it was taking up to fifteen minutes to load. For some reason I haven’t quite fathomed, this bit of writing looks absolutely different from normal. I wonder what will happen when I hit ‘publish’?
Start of a new year and I’m already getting up an hour earlier than I used to, just to fit everything in.
From where I’m standing, it looks as if it’s going to be a busy, happy new year!
